How has taking this course and/or completing this project changed how I plan to consider the causes and consequences of climate change in the future?

Taking this course has given me an in-depth understanding of how climate change occurs and what its global impacts are. This class has greatly influenced me to consider the sources of things before buying them, including food and material items. ATMO-1020 also encouraged me to consider the necessity of certain daily activities. I now consider whether I should or "need" to drive to a destination, or if I could just as easily walk, skateboard, or bike. Before taking this class I had a pretty broad understanding of the consequences of climate change, however, I always thought that preventing climate change would still be plausible. This class taught me that even if we halt all green house gas emission, the climate will still remain unstable, because greenhouse gases linger in the air for long periods of time. This makes me consider whether or not its worth it to leave 100 years of emissions in the air just so I don't have to walk or take a bus to the store or to school. I also am now considering supporting more efforts for carbon extraction, rather than preventative policy for climate change. I understand now that the amount of carbon currently present in the air will have devastating impacts on the global climate if we do not start utilizing the technology to remove it from our atmosphere.
